Customer Questions So Far

Q. Hi dave i actually have three questions all in one, i hope you don't mind sir.
First question is i purchased some of your leather amore and imlovin it, the saddle never felt so soft and supple but im not sure how often i need to apply it and especially in the winter how often if any.
Second question, have you ever heard of what to use on a windshield that is scratched to make viewing clearer especially heading into the sun.
Third question, you were saying in your site chat room the other day that you were working on the project of building a motorcycle trailer for the first time by following the same guide thats on your do it yourself page. My question is how is that going i missed most of the chat conversation and are you happy with the results. Thanks Meg, CA
A. Hi Meg thanks for writing, no its no problem we love all our customers questions in any submitted. ok first one first ......First Answer: In the summer time i apply the leather amore once a month, but remember it does not take very much to do the whole saddle and always remember to let the saddle cool down first, you dont want to apply this when the saddle is really hot. In the winter time its alittle different, first because the bike is not ridden as often and usually under a cover. What i do is i wait for a nice day to come along, might be once a month might me once every other month and let the seat warm up just alittle in the sun to allow it to penetrate the pores of the leather, but not too hot... that is when i apply it. Second answer: There are many products out there that claim to do just as you suggest, they claim to fill in the scratches and help with anti glare into the sun. But consumer beware here many are hoaxes and do nothing but make your plastic shinney and leave a foggy film on your windshield. What i use is a plastic cleaner/polisher product from walmart, it seems to do an minor job with filling in the scratches and it does clean the windshield great, and as far as the smokey film goes, you just have to use two clean rags and go over the windshield really well to get that film off. Wish i had a better answer for this but there may be a better product out there if so someone please write in and let us know about it. Third Answer: Yes you are right i am undergoing this project but it is a winter project and to be honest i have yet to purchase the trailer, but it will be a nice project for this winter and i will keep you posted either in here or in the chat room... thanks so much!! dave

Q. Dave, what is the best thing to use on my leather motorcycle seat, it just cost me $500 to replace it, what can i do to help keep it in great shape for years to come. thanks Ted K. Colorado
A. Ted thanks for writing, this tends to be a very deversified subject, everyone has their own tricks and their own favorite product that they use and they all swear by it. However NEVER use a product such as ArmorAll or any similar product that leaves a slippery film, those products are great for other uses but if you use them on your seat it can be very dangerious because you will slip and slide all over the seat. And some other products can leave a residue on your seat that will bleed over to your pants. But, speaking to a leather professional of mine and going thru years or trial and error myself i use Leather Amore, alittle goes a long ways and an 8oz bottle will last quite a while. It penetrates the pores of the leather and conditions it, and also cleans the leather adding years of life and elegance. Its simple to use and designed to clean leather and keep it soft and supple. Hope this helps, sincerely dave
(Update A.) Ted I myself have a corbin seat and so i contacted corbin and spoke with several others to find out the facts, the facts are that it depends on the process that the seat was made, leather production and dying techniques have changed over the years so corbin informed me that saddle soap on their leather would dry the leather out and strink it, they recommend using a leather conditioner. If your seat has a leather manufacturer label on it you might try contacting that company to find out what they suggest for their product. But the Leather Amore is an Excellent product and with my saddle costing $900 to redo i will only use the best thing for it. Please see our Leather Care Page for more details on ordering.

Q. Yes sir i have a 82 goldwing and im having a vibration on the front end at about 75 to 80 miles an hour, i have checked the front end completely and i have found nothing, any suggestions? Tom D. Dallas Tx.
A. Hi Tom thanks for writing, you might check the rear of the bike such as a rear tire thats cupping for example, check your rear tire for high and low spots, tires can become cupped for multiple reasons, pressure to high or to low, or just age. It is not uncommon for a problem in the rear portion of the bike to transfer its effect to the front while riding. Please keep me posted on your findings, Sincerely Dave
